Note: Campaign2016 is moving into the season of spring, in like a lion and probably out like the same thanks to the frenzy of the conflict that includes much being made about the efforts to stop the campaign momentum of business mogul and outsider Donald Trump. In the following clip, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich identifies the issues behind Trump's popularity and his disfavor among the GOP elite, having experienced a very similar anti-force during his 2012 campaign.
Newton Leroy "Newt" Gingrich is an American politician, historian, author and political consultant. He represented Georgia's 6th congressional district as a Republican from 1979 until his resignation in 1999, and served as the 50th Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1995 to 1999. In 2012, Gingrich was a candidate for the Republican Party presidential nomination. Of that failed campaign, Gingrich likes to say that the effort "took a huge detour, ran into a wall, and fell into a swamp."
